First of all, I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to share information about myself and our company on the pages of your esteemed publication.
– Nina, where did you study and work before moving to Texas?
I am originally from Almaty, Kazakhstan. From childhood, I was interested in medicine. I was actively involved in biology and related sciences in school, participated in, and won Olympiads. I enrolled in the Asfendiyarov Medical Institute, but my parents were against it because they wanted me to start earning as soon as possible. Following their advice, I transferred to nursing. It was a big shock for me, but I didn’t have a choice. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree, I started working in the medical field, where I met my husband. After getting married, I graduated from the Institute of Nursing and obtained a Master’s degree in Nursing. I also completed studies at the Institute of Foreign Languages and Business Career. At different times, I worked as an emergency nurse, an assistant in plastic surgery and dermatology, managed a regional office of medical assistance at an oil field, and led a company that specialized in medical translations and personnel outsourcing. Like many women, I also simultaneously “worked” as a mother, cleaner, cook, driver, and educator for my four children. This year, our eldest daughter enrolled in the biology faculty (pre-med) with the goal of further admission to medical school to obtain an MD degree. I am happy that my love for medicine is manifesting in the next generation.
– How did you choose Austin?
The decision to move to Texas was mainly made by my husband. His experience is in the field of economics, finance, and law. He worked in corporate management and finance in the oil and gas industry. Texas was chosen for its economic feasibility in terms of taxes, housing availability, and the quality of schools. Austin was chosen because it is a kind of gem of Texas, reminiscent of California and Italy. It is also a new Silicon Valley and a center for venture investments.
– Do you miss any aspects of life in your homeland? What traditions and habits have you preserved from your life in Texas?
Undoubtedly, my thoughts often return to friends and colleagues. Childhood and youth friends hold a special place in my heart.
I also miss my colleagues incredibly. We worked together, shared experiences and knowledge, and supported each other. These people were my team, and their support was invaluable. To this day, they keep track of my movements and always provide support, share recommendations, and priceless experience.
– What do you like most about Austin?
In my opinion, the most attractive thing about Austin is its friendly and open atmosphere. The city is famous for its friendly residents who are always ready to help and support. Here, everyone can find their place and like-minded people.
Overall, Austin is a special city where you can enjoy life surrounded by beautiful nature, interesting culture, and friendly people. It deserves the title of “Texas Gold.”
– Please tell us about your profession and work.
As you know, obtaining licenses in the field of medicine in Texas, and in the USA in general, takes time. While my documents were being recognized by the Texas Board, I became an aesthetician and started working under the guidance of an American doctor. By the time I received my medical licenses, I had built a stable client base and a portfolio of photos showcasing the results of my work. I also traveled across America to obtain local certificates for various aesthetic procedures that were not readily available in Austin. I passed the practical and written exams in Medical Aesthetics and obtained the status of a Board Certified Advanced Aesthetics Nurse Practitioner. I am very grateful to my American clients for their support and trust, which allowed me to be awarded the Best Injector USA status for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024. In the USA, I also graduated from St. Augustine University with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner with high honors and obtained an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license in Florida and Texas. Currently, I am continuing my education in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program and working on my research dissertation. I also continue to participate in various medical and aesthetic conferences. My husband graduated from law school and obtained a Master’s degree with Magna Cum Laude in Jurisprudence from the University of St. Mary in San Antonio.
My work can be conditionally divided into two directions: medical aesthetics and medicine. Medical aesthetics, “Beauty Eternal”/“Beaute Eternelle,” is related to the subjective aspects of beauty, rejuvenation, and anti-aging. We also conduct educational courses in injectable and laser aesthetic medicine for doctors and nurses. Medicine, “Nexus Transcend”/“NT Family Clinic,” is related to health, disease prevention and treatment, diagnostics, and what is commonly known as wellness. We serve people of all ages. The clinic offers laboratory testing, gynecological smears, and other diagnostic services. As it turns out, in most cases, children’s treatments are in demand (cough, allergies, skin rashes), as well as treatments for the older population that require correction of blood pressure, joint pain treatment, and weight management.
– What do you do besides work? What are your interests and hobbies?
Now it’s hard to say what is work and what is a hobby—everything has merged together. I am engaged in scientific work, or rather research. I have obtained a number of patents in the field of medical aesthetics. As for leisure, I enjoy spending time with my family at picturesque lakes and the ocean.
– How do you participate in the Russian-speaking community in Austin?
I would say that it’s not me who participates, but life itself involves me in the events of the Russian-speaking community in Austin. As one spiritual person said, it only seems like we are the actors, but in reality, everything happens on its own, and we can only assess and express our attitude towards what is happening.
We are often asked how it is possible to build a career and raise responsible and serious children with four kids? My answer is always the same—we are immigrants and we have no other options. Of course, because my spouse and I have always worked and studied a lot, it was difficult to fully dedicate time to our growing children, but the support of Russian-speaking friends and true experts in their fields helped us overcome the difficulties. All four children speak Russian fluently. Our eldest daughter continued singing, and the twins started playing the guitar. Our sons play chess and are not afraid to compete with older participants, often winning prizes. Both girls played the violin in Almaty, and after moving, they continued with violin master classes. The kids can create beautiful oil paintings and other artworks. After moving to the USA and as the children grew older, it became clear that along with academic performance, sports are an important component of successful education. We were fortunate to meet positive and responsible people, sincere friends, despite all the difficulties of moving and settling in a new country, in Austin.

– What are your preferences when it comes to books, music, and movies?
When it comes to books, it’s hard to say which ones I like specifically. I believe that everything I have managed to read deserves to be my favorite. The same goes for movies, but most often, during rare moments of relaxation, I rewatch comedies by Gaidai and other masterpieces of Soviet classics.
As for music, I prefer classical. I absolutely love the piano melodies of F. Chopin, violin compositions by N. Paganini, and, of course, the works of S. Rachmaninoff, N. Rota, and other great composers.
– What would you like to wish Russian-speaking residents of Austin and Texas?
In addition to health, positivity, and well-being, I would like to wish Russian-speaking residents of Austin and Texas success in all their endeavors, joy from meetings with loved ones and friends, and many interesting and memorable moments in their lives. May each day bring new opportunities and achievements, and may communication with the people around them be filled with warmth and kindness.
I wish everyone happiness, never to lose spirit, and to believe in themselves!
