Festival Dobro

The russian-speaking cultural festival Dobro took place in Austin (October 20, 2024). “Dobro”, which means kindness, is an autumn celebration where we shared our traditions, food, talents, and hearts. The festival brought together several hundred guests, offering warmth, joy, and a sense of unity to everyone who attended.

The event became a true celebration of Russian culture and traditions, featuring a rich program:

  • Performances by artists and creative groups: dances, songs, and music left no one indifferent. The folk songs and classical music evoked memories of native culture.
  • Craft market: handmade items, painted ceramics, and traditional souvenirs delighted both adults and children.
  • Culinary delights: dishes like pilaf, pirozhki, vareniki, and other Russian and Slavic cuisine specialties created an unmatched atmosphere of comfort and hospitality.
  • Children’s activity zones: workshops, competitions, and interactive games gave the youngest guests a chance to have fun and learn something new.

The “Dobro” festival became not just a celebration but a genuine symbol of friendship and unity. Many guests left with cherished memories of a wonderful day and a feeling of being part of a greater mission to preserve and promote Russian culture in Austin.

The Russian Cultural Center extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in organizing and hosting the festival. We are looking forward to see you again at our future events!
