Maslenitsa Festival (Austin, Texas)

Maslenitsa cultural festival took place on March 1 at 2008 Justin Lane, Austin, TX 78757. Guests enjoyed live music and performances by creative groups, including folk dances and rhythmic gymnastics. The celebration featured plov, blini, pies, and other delicious treats, a craft fair with handmade goods, a children’s entertainment program with face painting, creative workshops for both children and adults, and a festive concert program that brought the community together to celebrate the arrival of spring. We would like to thank all the participants of the celebration for creating the truly warm and joyful atmosphere of Maslenitsa. Singers, creative groups performing folk dances, and young performers with children’s acts and rhythmic gymnastics performances presented guests with a bright and diverse concert program. Thanks to your talent and energy, the celebration was filled with music, movement, and the spirit of spring.

Special thanks go to our vendors for the delicious food, including fragrant blini, plov, pies, and other treats, as well as for participating in the raffle and presenting creative projects and handmade items at the craft fair. Your contribution helped create the atmosphere of a true traditional festival and made the event even more vibrant and welcoming.

We would also like to thank all our guests for their support, warm smiles, and active participation in the celebration. Children happily took part in relay games and competitions, painted pictures, attended creative workshops, played games, and enjoyed face painting, filling the space with laughter and joy. This day became a true celebration of spring and sunshine that brings people together, preserves cultural traditions, and creates lasting memories.

We sincerely thank everyone who spent this day with us and look forward to seeing you again at future celebrations.

We warmly invite you to celebrate Maslenitsa with us – to welcome the coming spring, enjoy the sunshine, taste delicious traditional blini, and applaud the wonderful talents of our children. Maslenitsa is a traditional Eastern European cultural festival with ancient roots that celebrates the end of winter and the arrival of spring, bringing communities together for music, dancing, games, and the sharing of blini (thin pancakes) symbolizing the sun and renewal, reflecting centuries of seasonal tradition and folk heritage. This joyful community celebration brings families and friends together for an afternoon filled with warmth, culture, music, and festive spirit.
