Family Quest Event – Wizard of the Emerald City
The Wizard of the Emerald City family event took place outside on October 25th in Katherine Fleischer Park. More than 150 people participated. Many thanks to our helpful and caring volunteers and of course the quest participants. The celebration was a real success; there were so many children’s happy faces. The children solved riddles in Russian, completed the quests, and found treasure. The children showed resourcefulness and quick wit when moving through the stages and completing various tasks. The event included a drawing, gifts, dancing, and treats in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The celebration was really beautiful and interesting; we really hope that many children will remember it. After all, this is why we organized this holiday-quest. Many thanks to all participants!

The Sputnik School is a non-profit organization that is part of the Russian Cultural Center in Austin. Classes are held on Saturdays from 2-6pm at 4001 Adelphi Ln Austin, TX 78727.

Both professional teachers and volunteers teach at the School. As of today (January 2021), this is the only place in Austin where several dozen families meet every week to communicate, teach languages, and develop creative projects.
