Celebration: Astronaut Day 2021

Celebration: Astronaut Day

On April 17th, the Russian Cultural Center in Austin held a fun and educational children’s party in the format of a space quest. Children traveled in a spaceship from one planet to another. The holiday began with poems and riddles from the “Suns”. Guests from Mercury danced hip hop, and a Martian told the children about the power of gravity on different planets. Arriving on Venus, the children made space crafts, after which they played an outdoor game “I believe – I do not believe” on Uranus.

Princess Neptune entertained the children, and on Saturn, the children prepared to defend the earth from aliens. The guests of the holiday even visited the planet of the Little Prince and looked at the wonderful work by Alena Bystritskaya and listened to the singing of the talented Ksenia Shishlyannikova.

Returning to the ground, the children got to see the dance performances of Sputnik and KARAMEL under the direction of Anna Blagodyreva. This holiday was an excellent occasion to be proud not only of the achievements of Russia and the Soviet Union in space exploration, but also of the talents of Austin’s Russian-speaking children.
